Forensic Social work Services

This specialized area of social work practice involves the application of psychosocial theories, social work skills, and the legal system. Forensic work services include but are not limited to being tasked with conducting psychosocial evaluations for mitigation purposes, assessing and linking clients to evidence-based services, providing expert testimony and when needed, integrating those services into pretrial, sentencing, or alternative sentencing plans.

Forensic Psychology Services:

Forensic psychology services include the application of psychology to the criminal justice system.

Forensic social work services include:

  •   Conduct social history interviews and psychosocial assessments with juvenile and adult clients in detention centers, correctional facilities and in the community
  • Draft psychosocial history summary reports, juvenile transfer and juvenile waiver reports, juvenile disposition reports and mitigation reports to be used in court for mitigation in criminal proceedings, transfer and waiver proceedings, disposition and other legal proceedings
  • Provide expert testimony in court in juvenile transfer and felony cases
  • Make treatment and placement recommendations

  • Connect client’s to community resources /services through case management
